Denim Skirts are Back!

Denim skirts are everywhere at the minute and I'm so into it. I bought mine last year and I always get complimented on it and asked where its from. Denim skirts are a great way to bridge the gap between dressed up and casual but I do have a couple recommendations:

1. Midi not Maxi...the maxi skirts can easily swamp your frame and its just

a lot. A midi version of the skirt creates fabulous proportions and is more easily styled.

2. Back slit, not front slit. This has some wiggle room as there won't be loads of options out there for back slits, but I find them much easier to wear. Sitting down with a massive front slit can be tricky and it often creates mini skirt issues which I never want.

3. High waisted is gold! I know some shops are trying to bring back the low waist, but I'm not here for it. A high waist will add length to your silhouette (especially if you choose the midi) and look fabulous styled with an oversized shirt and boots ;)

So lets think positively and have a look at some FABULOUS skirts that would be a great addition to your wardrobe this Spring and Summer.

This gorgeous number from Reformation is exactly what I'm talking about...high waisted, back slit, and midi length. The dark blue colour makes it super versatile and easier to dress up with heels and a lovely top.

This tailored skirt from Wardrobe NYC is the one I have and I absolutely adore. They have increased the price since I bought it last year and I can only assume its due to the rise of popularity! Super chic, but don't expect to take long strides.

This black option by Diesel is fab and also available in a light blue. I love the black denim, would look amazing with some sexy stilettos and fabulous oversized bomber jacket...big black sunglasses...cute shoulder bag...ok I might have to order.

This skirt by Patricia Pepe is so similar to mine but half the price...really annoying. If you order it please let me know what its like! I love the vintage denim colour!

This option from Cotton Traders is a gorgeous length and much easier on the wallet! The front slit is minimal offering a solution to the unwanted knicker shot and I love the casual colour!
